Kids Kidney Research
Who are we, and what do we do?
Kids Kidney Research is a small charity staffed entirely by
volunteers which funds vital kidney research into all forms of kidney disorders
in babies and children.
Currently, over 97% of all monies raised funds research at
the Institute of Child
Health/Great Ormond Street, and nationwide through
the British Association for Paediatric Nephrology and other UK research
institutions.

Kidney disease affects as many as one in ten adults, and
many of these diseases are thought to start in childhood. Some childhood kidney diseases cause acute
failure in childhood, while others are chronic, leading to kidney failure in
later life. Kids Kidney Research funds
critical research into childhood kidney disease that could help prevent kidney
failure in adulthood.
We need your financial support to fund the vital kidney
research that aims to find ways of:
- Healing damaged and faulty kidneys
- Improving the management of kidney disease by keeping damaged kidneys working for longer and preventing them from failing
- Improving dialysis and transplant effectiveness
- Understanding how kidney disease develops
